Paws for a Cause: Free Mobile Spay and Neuter Clinics in South Monterey County

In a heartfelt initiative to combat the issue of pet overpopulation, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Monterey County is bringing their crucial veterinary services directly to the community. With the introduction of free mobile spay and neuter clinics for pets in South Monterey County, this program not only aims to curb the rising number of stray animals but also to promote the health and well-being of our furry companions. If you’re residing in the area stretching from Chualar south to the county lines, this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss!

What You Need to Know About the Mobile Clinics

The free clinics will take place at two convenient locations:

  • King City Recreation Center (401 Division St., King City)
  • Soledad Lions Club (161 Park St., Soledad)

Mark your calendars! Upcoming clinic dates include:

  • February 12 and March 19 at King City
  • February 26 and March 5 at Soledad

How to Participate

To take advantage of this fantastic service, residents must make an appointment and pay a refundable $25 deposit to secure their spot. When you arrive with your pet for the appointment, this deposit will be fully refunded. The free surgeries also encompass rabies vaccinations and additional vaccines such as FVRCP for cats or DA2PP for dogs. It’s essential to ensure the following:

  • All feral cats must be brought in humane traps.
  • All friendly cats should be in secure cat carriers.
  • All dogs must be on a leash to ensure safety.

The Impact of SPCA Monterey County

This groundbreaking initiative comes in addition to SPCA Monterey County’s ongoing low-cost veterinary clinic that has been serving the community since 1976. With their affordable spay and neuter services, the clinic has significantly diminished pet overpopulation, having altered over 180,000 animals and preventing the birth of countless unwanted pets. This not only benefits the individual pets and their owners but also the broader community, helping to produce a healthier environment.

How You Can Help!
