Transforming Lives: Celebrate National Change a Pet’s Life Day with Humane Pennsylvania

For many of us, pets are more than just animals; they are family members, companions, and sources of unconditional love. As we move into January, there’s an inspiring occasion on the horizon that allows us to express that love in a meaningful way—National Change a Pet’s Life Day. This year, Humane Pennsylvania is making it easier than ever to embrace the joys of pet ownership with an exciting three-day adoption event that’s sure to tug at your heartstrings and transform lives across the community.

Free Adoptions Are Here!

From January 24 to January 26, the Freedom Center for Animal Life-Saving in Reading and the Lancaster Adoption Center for Cats & Critters in Lancaster will host a special event filled with wagging tails and soft purrs. Thanks to the generous sponsorship from Silverbox Creative Studio, adoption fees will be waived, removing a financial barrier that often deters potential pet parents from welcoming a new furry friend into their homes.

During these three days, Humane Pennsylvania is not just inviting you to adopt; they’re inviting you to change a life. This event reflects the organization’s dedication to giving shelter animals a second chance at finding their “furever” homes. With the success of last year’s adoption event—which saw 29 animals finding loving families—there’s a growing sense of hope and excitement surrounding this initiative.

What’s Included in the Adoption Package?

When you step through the doors of either adoption center, you’ll be greeted by a comforting fact: adopting a pet doesn’t just save a life; it also comes with a comprehensive care package designed to help both you and your new companion transition smoothly. Here’s what you can expect:

  • 30-day Adoption Health Supplement
  • Spaying or neutering prior to adoption
  • Vaccinations, including current rabies vaccination
  • De-worming medication
  • Flea treatment
  • Microchipping and chip registration
  • A free 1 lb. bag of Science Diet pet food

These provisions underscore Humane Pennsylvania’s commitment to not just finding homes, but ensuring those homes are happy and healthy for both pets and their new families.

Finding Your Perfect Match

While excitement is palpable, potential adopters should know that Humane Pennsylvania conducts a diligent adoption screening process to ensure a good fit for both the pet and the new owner. Please note that pets under 6 months of age are excluded from this promotion. This careful vetting is essential, as it helps to foster successful, lifelong adoptions that enrich the lives of the pets and their families.

Join the Movement: Change a Life

By participating in this event, you’re not only adopting a pet; you’re taking part in a larger movement aimed at promoting compassion and responsibility towards animals in need. Every adoption story is like a beacon of hope, showcasing the transformative power of love. Not only does it enhance the life of the adopted pet, but it also adds joy to the adopters’ lives—it’s a win-win situation!
